Wow! Great news....we made it through the first week of grade 4 still smiling!
This week was wonderful to meet everyone and to begin to mesh as a 'classroom community'. We started to realize the connections we all have!
Please peek into your child's backpack, you should find:
-a GIFT from me (in a white bag, with a message on it). I tucked one into every child's backpack on their way out this morning. This gift is CONNECTED to the book Agate, I read to them.
-TWAS - please read it and respond. There is an explanation on the front cover. THESE ARE DUE MONDAY.
Homework:
-your child will need a yogurt container (clean and labelled) for Monday or Tuesday, if possible. The size is 650 g or bigger. We need them for art. If you have more, can you send them in?
-newsprint
-return TWAS for the morning of Monday, September 9th
-return OPENING FORMS found on our website
Here are some of the things we wrote about in TWAS ---
Our Making Ten card game (like go fish, but you need to have two addends to make 10).
We found a good book and read during D.E.A.R. - Drop Everything And Read! Can you spot the whisper phones?
Our cooperative game of team 'GOLF'! With this game, we are CONNECTED and we are learning communication skills, patience, that winning isn't everything (there is no prize), perseverance and so many other core social skills!
Have a WONDERFUL weekend! I know it will be fun to have the weekend to relax a bit and sleep in. Good luck to those students who have try out or evaluations, there are quite a few of you!
