We had so much fun sharing our FICTITIOUS (made up) SPOOKY STORIES!  We have some real authors in our midst!  The S'mores and campfire made it so much fun too.

Thank you to our fabulous families for providing yummy and healthy treats.  Thanks to our Room Parent, Brianne, for making the delicious S'Mores!

I hope you liked the fun centres: eye ball challenge, Wacky Mad Libs, spider races, cup stacking challenge, descriptive drawing of a 'monster' and spooky spider/scorpion chase too.

PLEASE BE SAFE WHEN YOU ARE TRICK-OR - TREATING tonight!  Enjoy your Friday off!  See you in November (Monday)! ;)

Thursday, October 31 is Halloween!

Happy night before Halloween!

Just a reminder, our costumes stay in our bags until lunch!  Remember costumes need to be school appropriate - no masks or weapons!  Students will get changed into costumes, if they choose, at lunch.  WE WILL HAVE A REGULAR MORNING, with phys. ed and our usual learning rhythm!

Thanks to those families who are contributing to our classroom celebration by providing treats!
A HUGE THANK YOU ahead of time!

We will be sharing out loud, our SPOOKY STORIES we have worked on for the past month.  We will have a pretend campfire and try to read with expression.  The stories will be a little bit creepy, but that is to engage the listener and to write descriptively!

FIELD TRIP FORMS ARE DUE.  Thanks to those of you who have returned your forms!  I am waiting for about 10 more! Please scroll back in posts, print and complete the forms at home.  Then return them to school competed!

Remember, Friday is a PD Day.  No school on Friday, November 1.

Picture retakes are on Tuesday, October 29th!

Smile....retake day is tomorrow!
I sent home picture orders today. If you missed out, there is another chance!  Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 29th is RETAKE day.  Please let your child know if he/she wants retakes.

Halloween is on Thursday, October 31:
It will be school as usual in the morning.  Then students are welcome to wear school appropriate costumes in the afternoon.  They should be self sufficient in changing into the costume (as they outnumber me!).  Please remember no weapons, nothing too gory or scary, as we have littles in the school.  We will be sharing our Spooky Stories during a classroom 'campfire' with S'Mores!  Thanks to the parents who donated treats to make this day just a bit more special.

PD Day (no school for students) on Friday, November 1st

Remembrance Day Assembly:
November 8th around 10:40am (or so, watch for a confirmed time closer to the date).  Our grade 4s will lead this assembly.  Students are welcome to wear their Service uniforms (Brownies, Girl Guides, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Cadets, etc).

Reminders:

  • Field Trip - November 13th: Please scroll back to find our Field Trip blog post!  Then print, complete and return them to school.  Thanks to those who have already done this, you are so helpful.  I sent home volunteer forms home today to those parents who got in touch with our Room Parent Brianne.
  • School Fundraiser went home last week!
  • Please return TWAS each MONDAY!  Thanks if you have done so already.
Challenge - Today we learned how to write heroic couplets when preparing for our Remembrance Day assembly.  We came up with 30 words that rhyme with ME.  I wonder if you can think of 2 more lines that rhyme with PEACE BEGINS WITH ME?  You could also, work together to brainstorm more words that rhyme with ME!!!! Let's see if we can get our list to 50!!! Can it be done???

Hello my friends....
