Hello FABULOUS FOURS and FAMILIES!

Hi guys! EPIC BOOKS: Pnk1459

I am at school and hoping you are still smiling.  Thanks for listening to the news and staying at home for now.  Until we know more, here are some things you can do to keep learning:

-read a real book (you were told to take your novels home with you on Friday) to give your eyes a rest from screens
-play a board game
-if you are healthy get outside and enjoy some fresh air with your family or at a safe distance
-play math card games (unicorn, you can print off a grid paper and play ARRAY CAPTURE)

-EPIC BOOKS during the day CLICK HERE FOR LINK TO PUT IN CODE: pnk1459 (free during school hours)
-RAZ KIDS. CLICK HERE FOR OUR CLASS!
-MAthletics

In class we were already working on area and book reviews, so you might as well finish those!

Language Arts - Book Review:

Read the novel you told me you were reading.

Then afterwards, you can go on to Google Drive.  I have shared a task with you to complete.  Be sure to SHARE back with me, after you try your best to write full sentences, check for CAPITALS (beginnings of names, places, things and sentences), PUNCTUATION to end a complete sentence.  Remember apostrophes ('s) are not for MORE THAN ONE, but to shorten a word or to show ownership.  HERE IS THE LINK. Use your GOOGLE MAIL login to see it in SHARED WITH ME!

Math: AREA -
Length x width = Area (remember to try to multiply to figure out the area)

Can you 'map' out your room and figure out the area (using steps) for your room, bed, dresser, closet and any other bigger furniture?  You can just use a piece of blank or lined paper.  If you want, it could be your DREAM ROOM!  You could draw up a bird's eye view of your room.  Here is an example:

Science:
Read some SIMPLE MACHINE books on EPIC BOOKS to learn more!  There are lots.  Then with supervision, make a simple CARDBOARD ARCADE game that includes at least 2 simple machines.  We were going to have a building challenge this week of using a paper towel tube (wrapping paper tube), string, and a drink container filled with water to make a PULLEY!  Can you do it?  If so, take a photo and email it to me!  Have fun learning and creating.

To make you smile, here are some pictures of my new puppy we picked up from a little town called Rosemary (2 hours east of Calgary)!  Can you guess her name?

Take care everyone!
I will be in touch with you once we know more!
